Dear Diary,
I miss home...I miss everyone back home,I miss my mum's cooking,I miss Penang Asam laksa,I miss Penang Char Koay Teow, I miss Penang Prawn noodles, ok I guess I am just too hungry..lol..
But it's true that I miss my family.I had a phone conversation with my brother last night. After the phone conversation, I missed home badly. I seldom have the opportunity to be with my family as often as I want. Although my parents live in Malaysia too, I don't get to go back home as often as my colleagues who are from KL...and my siblings work in oversea, so I seriously don't get to see them very often (once a year if I am lucky enough).
Btw I still feel happy that I can go home in two weeks time.These are the things I MUST do when I go back home:
1) Eat Penang Laksa (I miss you babe!!!)
2) Eat Yong Tau Fu (at a hawker place in SP, believe me, they sell the best YTF there)
3) Go jogging everyday ( I used to do exercise everyday, but currently in relapse)
4) Shopping!!!! (It's Sales season!!!!)
5) Sit down and think about what I am going to do for the next semester (My medical posting will begin next sem and sad to know that we'll be getting Dr Khalid and Dr Wong as our tutor. I heard that both of them are very demanding! Nooooooooooo...I am not looking forward to next sem)

Well,I totally agree with that.It's just a matter of how long will it take for a wound to heal? one day? one year? ten years? or even a lifetime? Why I say so? Well,1st of April is a day to play practical jokes on others,send people on fool's errands, and fool the unsuspecting...so it's basically a day you can play prank without having a sense of guilt.Apart from that..there have been 2 birthday celebrations within this month. First,it was Fan's birthday. Sri organized a birthday party for him at Danga Bay....

Next, it was Jia Lin's birthday. Knowing that she would have expected a surprise birthday party from all of us. I told her honestly that we would celebrate her birthday at my place but I didn't mention how many people would turn up.Before she arrived at my place,I got everyone to hide in the balcony.When she finally turned up,I lied to her that a lot of people couldn't attend the party.Once she entered the living room,those who hid in the balcony rushed out and gave her a surprise..lol
Well,would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone..
A big thank you to Shin Yin and Mama Bear for helping me with the decorations,cleaning up my place and preparing the food

Finally....here am I updating my blog!
So...what happened after my brother's weddding?
Let's take a glance at the interesting events before and after I went back to the uni....

28th January to 7th of February

Trip to the UK and Netherlands with my family

In the UK,we spent most of our time in Manchester,but we did visit places near to Manchester,e.g. Liverpool and Sheffield.It was snowing in Manchester!! I was still pretty excited when I saw the snow, even though I had a few "snowy" experiences before this. I sacrificed my sleep just to capture the beautiful moments of a snowy day. Watching the snowflakes falling down was nerve soothing and I started to have a romantic fantasy ;)
Other than the "snowy" experience, my trip in Manchester was mainly about having a big feast with my brother's friends, cooking, shopping...sounds boring but I really enjoyed myself!

Of course, not forgetting to mention my trip in Netherlands. We were there for only four days. Places visited: Amsterdam and Dan Haag. Was impressed by the high environmental awareness among the Dutch. Most of them use bicycle to travel from one place to another.

We visited the red light district. I was shocked by the way the prostitutes "sold" themselves. Basically they were displaying themselves in a "glass room" ,wearing only bikini. They were attracting their costumers by showing different sexy postures.It was a real eye-opener!!! ;)

9th of Feb to 15th of Feb
Traveled down to Johor.This year is our clinical year and we are attached to Hospital Sultanah Aminah Hospital in JB. Time to be back to the uni:( The first week was transition week. I found that clinical year is completely different from pre-clinical years. In clinical year, you are expected to learn a lot of things all by yourself.I am doing surgery at the moment and trust me,the surgeons are quite scary. They always bombard us with plenty of questions during bedside teaching. We'll get scolded if we don't know the answer. Therefore,we have to do a lot of pre-readings before we go for ward rounds or bedside teachings. Apart from that,unlike pre-clinical years, we no longer deal with simulated patients,instead,we deal with the real patients. We will always be asked to perform examination or carry out procedures like venepuncture on the real patient! Talking about venepuncture,I managed to perform it on the real patients. However, there were a couple of times I didn't manage to get any blood from the patient. Once, I was trying to draw blood from a malay woman..her vein was hardly palpable. I just made a rough estimation the location of the vein and inserted the needle without hesitation. Dammit!! no backflow of blood!! I became nervous and called for help "nurse,tak ada darah..macam mana?".Luckily the nurse was friendly enough to show me what went wrong. *Phew* but the patient seemed to be very angry...I asked " Sorry Makcik,sakit kah?" She answered rudely "Mesti sakitla!!!" I felt so embarrassed and I wished there was a hole for me to hide myself :( Well,I believe that practice makes perfect,so I am going to practice blood-taking more often!

It was my birthday!! Thanks to my best friend Jia Lin and my classmates!!!They surprised me with a birthday party :) I had a fun birthday and I'll always remember it!

A big congratulation to my eldest brother on his wedding! Glad that he has found the right person whom he can spend the rest of his life with. Anyway,I went for a Christmas dinner last night.The food was yummy,the people were friendly,the show (esp the lucky draw :P) was fantastic and most importantly,I met my friends..FINALLY!! (after 3 years..lol..such a long time isn't it?) Thanks for the Christmas presents! I love it! :)

My Holidays (Part 2)

Sorry guys that I took so long to update my blog.Well,as I mentioned in my earlier post,Karen,Victor and Chuan Tai came to malaysia for holidays.I am going to briefly write about their five days trip in Malaysia.

First day
They arrived kl. Jia Lin and her mum picked them up from the bus station. They went to Petaling street for lunch.After that,I met them at Jia Lin's place. Next, we went to One Utama(without wasting any time :P ) We had our dinner at Wong Kok restaurant.Here are some of the pics taken when we were having dinner...

After dinner,Jia Lin's dad drove us around the kl city.The view of kl twin towers at night was breathtaking!! We were impressed by its architecture! We strolled down bintang walk.It was a happening place with lots of shopping malls around. Of course,we did not forget to take pictures!

Before we called it a day, we had our supper at a Mamak store. We did not have appetite for food so we only ordered drinks.
We spent overnight at Jia Lin's resort. It was a nice resort equipped with a 34 inches plasma LCD tv, a cute teddy bear for us to play with...etc..lol

Second Day
We had Dim Sum for breakfast.I satisfied my stomach with Chee Cheong Fan!

In the afternoon, we took a flight to Penang!!!! Had our lunch at the hawker stalls in Gurney Bay.We ordered Asam Laksa,Rojak,Cuttlefish kangkung,satay,Pasembur,Prawn noodles, Muar Chee...hmm the food was tantalizing and simply irresistible!!
After lunch, my dad drove us around penang so that we could take a quick glimpse of the island.At night,we went back to Sungai Petani(the place where I live). Had our dinner in a restaurant near my house. That's all for our second day trip.

Third Day
Went to Penang early in the morning. We visited a Burmist temple.In the temple,there were different containers for vistors to throw a coin and make a wish.Each container resembled one wish, eg prosperity, good health...To make a wish come true,we must throw a coin into one of those containers. I managed to throw in "Good health","Happy Marriage","Happiness" and "High Education"...does that mean I am going to possess one of them soon? lol...we will see :P
We had nyonya food for lunch in the adternoon.We visited nyonya museum after lunch. Most of the antiques have beautiful design. We learnt more about nyonya culture after the visit.We were then brought to a batik factory to see the making of batik.
What's next? more and more temples :S (Jia Lin: "why Penang has so many temples?" me:"erm...because people in Penang like to pray?" Jia Lin:"......."

Fourth Day
Our flight back to kl was scheduled in the afternoon,therefore,we didn't have anything planned for the morning. We had dim sum for breakfast again :P After breakfast,it was FRIENDS time!! I watched FRIENDS with my friends....lol.. We spent the whole morning watching the series.

It was Karen's birthday, we planned a surprise birthday party for her.Here is how our plan worked... We lied to her that we were going to have a quick dinner in a restaurant nearby since everyone was tired.We called Minchiee and asked her to join us for dinner. During the dinner,everyone just acted normally,pretending that we did not remember her birthday. Once we finished our dinner, Jia Lin and Victor went to get the birthday cake. Karen was surpised and touched when she saw the birthday cake! (our plan was successful! Yay!) and what Karen didn't know was...we had another bigger surprise for her..lol.. We asked her to hold the birthday cake,telling her that we wanted to take a picture..When she wasn't paying attention,Victor and Jia Lin smashed the birthday cake on her face! (our`second plan went successfully! lol..)

My Holidays (Part 1)

Holidays have been awesome!! Feel like I am living in heaven now ;) Well basically (quoted from Dr Wong) my holiday is all about eat, sleep & travel....
so...what have I been doing so far? There you go....

27th of November
Headed off to Melbourne, Australia.The main purpose of this trip was to bring back my things which I left a year ago..

28th of November
Arrived Melbourne! It was summer there. Took a taxi to Karen's new house in Boxhill. Melbourne didn't seem to change much. I met Karen finally!!! Gave her a big bear hug:)
Met Auntie Soo and Richard as well. Had our lunch in Boxhill Centro. Thanks Auntie Soo for the lunch!
Helped Karen to move her stuffs and then we went back to Mount Waverley. Was glad to see Maureen (my ex-landlady).
Justin came over to our place in the afternoon. Had a good chat with him until dinner time. It was a shame he couldn't join us for dinner :(
Had our dinner in a Szechuan restaurant, Glen Waverley. Was my first time trying Szechuan food..love it!

29th of November
Off to Melbourne Central..carried out my first shopping mission..lol.. My mission was unsucessful..only managed to buy a dress :( but I did bump into someone I know (you know who you are..lol...small world!)
Had my dinner with Karen, Richard and Karen's cousin. We had Korean barbecue!! yummy!! I tasted ox tongue..for the first time in my life! It didn't taste bad..but I would say it had a unique taste :P

30th November
Richard drove us (me, Karen,Roy and Emily) to Mount Dandenong. On our way to the mountain,we stopped by at Ferntree Gully (hope I get the name correct) to feed the birds. I didn't really get to feed the bird because... 1) was scared of getting hurt by the bird's beak 2)was busy taking pictures :P

Reached the mountain in the afternoon. Had our lunch in Miss Maple's restaurant! Once again we were overfed :D

After lunch, Richard dropped us off at Eastland shopping center. Fell in love with this place immediately ;) I was busy trying on new clothes from one shop to another..while Karen was busy looking for furnitures.

At night, went out with David (one of my Aussie friends). In the car, I kept asking him where were we heading to. He refused to give me an exact answer (trying to keep me in suspense huh? :P ) Finally, we reached the "secretive" place-Knox City (thought he was going to drive me to sydney or perth..lol..) We had a few drinks in a bar. Went home late..feeling sleepy but happy!

1st of December
Met my friend Martin in the city. Was one and half hours late (a big apology to him) Had our lunch in a shanghai restaurant. I was amazed by his "ability" to tolerate spicy food.... :P We walked around the city after lunch.

2nd of December
My last day in Melbourne! we packed our luggages and headed off to the airport. Karen was taking the same flight back to Malaysia with me! She would spend about 5 days in Malaysia before going back to China. I waved goodbye to Melbourne SADLY.. :'(
After this melbourne trip.... I have gained 2 kg of weight :( AND...
I have fallen in love with melbourne all over again! sigh...Wish I have the opportunity to go back Melbourne again.

This afternoon when I walked past a music store,a familiar voice caught my attention.I stopped and listened carefully...Then I recognised the voice...it was from the lead singer of my favourite boyband-WESTLIFE!!! I was hit by feeling of guilt immediately.I keep saying that I am a huge westlife fan but I haven't bought any of their latest album yet :(
Well,am I qualified enough to call myself a big westlife fan? I am not very sure..it's for you to judge ;) I have been their fan since I was in secondary school.I own six of their albums,their t-shirts(5 of them) and I went to their concert everytime they came to malaysia. There was once I travelled all the way to the uk just to watch their concert (ok..you can say that I am crazy :P ) Oh yeah...and I have their signature as well (my friend gave it to me during my birthday :D )

Hiya...We meet again!As you can see from the big title...EXAM IS OVER!!!!This means I have finally regained my freedom...even though it will only be for a short while. Why did I say the freedom will only last for a short while? Well,I screwed up all my exams...so...I think there is a big probability I have to sit for the supplementary exams.I am not being negative but it is true.I could only answer half of the exam questions...and out of the questions which I could answer, only half of them I was absolutely sure about the answer. Therefore, I have a big chance getting less than 50%,which means I am going to fail my exams. Sigh....the only thing I can do now is to pray....pray that the passing mark won't be too high :(
Okay....enough of complaining...now let's shift our attention from the stupid exam to other topics!
So...what have I been doing past few days? Well,shopping was the very first thing I did after my exam...since I had gone through 2 months without shopping(not even window shopping)..TWO PAINFUL MONTHS!!! due to the amount of assignments and exams we had (lol...I am complaining again :P ) OKok..back to the post exam fun..so did I manage to buy anything? Yes..one pink top!!!It actually took me a while before I decided to buy the top...and I did regret for buying it (this happens to me all the time..I change my mind easily :P)Went for a movie with Jia Lin after the shopping frenzy. We watched "Bee Movie"!!! The movie was actually quite funny (our laughter was the loudest in the whole cinema :P)
On the following day, we went to Sunway Lagoon (one of the famous theme park in Malaysia) Although I didn't try all the different rides available there, I am still proud with my overall "performance"...haha.. I managed to overcome my fear of height somehow and attempted certain "daring" activities"..lol..We left the park in the evening,feeling exhausted and hungry. We headed to a nearby Mamak stall and had our dinner that.I had such a big appetite that I actually ended up eating two cheesy Naans and one plate of fried noodles(I only managed to finished half of the noodles though)

My First Post!!!

Hi Everyone..am proud to announce this is my first post!! Well, I am having a huge exam in less than one week time..but here am I ..blogging instead of studying :S What can I say..too much to study and too little time..It has actually come to the stage that I am on the edge of giving up!
Arghh...anatomy,physiology,pathlogy,pharmacology..they just annoy me!!!!
Maybe I am doing the wrong course?
Maybe I should do something easier?
Maybe I should quit studying and start working?
Maybe I should quit studying and become a full time beggar? ;)
Maybe...I SHOULD STOP DAYDREAMING NOW AND GET BACK TO MY REVISION!!!!
I promise more updates after I finish my exam. 14th of November seems so far away though :( Really can't wait!!
